X-Static puts strong emphasis on precision and polish. We don’t just learn songs — we refine them. Every member listens, adjusts, and locks in until the band feels seamless. Add a few creative twists, and you get a show that’s tight, danceable, and always fun.
We believe great music deserves great sound. That’s why we use professional equipment and, in most settings, a dedicated sound engineer who ensures the mix is balanced and the volume fits the room. Each of the X-Static band members have decades of experience with a variety of styles and types of bands. They are all professionals who care deeply about details and carefully polishing their performances.
'JJ' Johnston - Keyboards and vocals
JJ anchors X-Static with commanding lead vocals and a wide palette of keyboard sounds. Known for an impressive vocal range and an ear for texture, JJ ensures the band's repertoire is both vast and engaging, giving audiences the full classic rock experience.
Mark Ulmer - Drums
Starting his drumming journey at an early age, Mark took a short break to focus on his career before returning to active performance in the mid-’90s. His rock, blues-rock, and classic rock style provides the driving force behind X-Static’s energetic live shows.
Randy Magnuson - Guitar and vocals
Randy’s guitar journey began at a young age, developing into a style that combines smooth melodies with powerful solos. His unique approach captures the essence of classic rock while enhancing X-Static’s dynamic sound, making him a driving force in the band’s performances and a continual source of inspiration for audiences.
Bob Courim - Guitar and vocals
Hailing from Chicago, Bob developed a love for rock, blues, and R&B early on, inspired by iconic acts like the Beatles and the Rolling Stones. He honed his skills at the Guitar Institute of Technology in California and toured extensively across the Southwest. Settling in Arizona, Bob became an integral member of X-Static, infusing the band’s performances with his depth of experience and vibrant energy.
Robert Cassero - Bass
Robert is a bassist known for laying down solid grooves and memorable basslines. With a natural sense of rhythm and melody, he brings both energy and depth to every performance. Whether providing a tight foundation or stepping into the spotlight, Robert’s playing adds a distinctive spark to X-Static’s dynamic sound.
